Stillness and movement - 127

.

Stillness in movement

Stillness and Movement

Stillness and movement are relative.
There is no absolute stillness.
So stop chasing after a still naked primordial awareness.

Quotes

Released from all entanglements ~ Sengcan

To understand the mystery of this One-essence (i.e. non-duality / Union of opposites)

is to be released from all entanglements.

When all things are seen equally

the timeless Self-essence is reached.

.

(i.e. The Ground: the inconceivable Union of the Two Truths. The only thing that is self-arisen unchanging eternal timeless spaceless limitless.)

.

No comparisons or analogies are possible

in this causeless, relationless state. (i.e. the oppositionless state)

Consider motion in stillness

and stillness in motion;

both movement and stillness disappear. (i.e. are transcended)

.

(i.e. ๐—จ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€ [Uopp]: Union of stillness <==> and movement. Apparent opposites, like stillness and movement, are inseparable, interdependent, co-defined, co-relative, co-dependent, co-emergent, co-evolving, co-ceasing / co-transcended, in harmony, equal / non-dual / one -- in the non-dual sense of those terms. One opposite implies the other (<==>). There is no stillness without movement, and vice versa.

.

๐—จ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ง๐˜„๐—ผ ๐—ง๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐˜๐—ต๐˜€ [U2T] about opposites like stillness and movement: Stillness and movement are both empty of inherent existence (2nd truth) <==> because co-existent / co-dependent (1st truth). One truth implies the other (<==>).

.

๐—จ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€ [U3S] about opposites like stillness and movement. As conceptual objects, conceptual opposites, stillness and movement are merely co- labelled / co-imputed / co-conceptualised together by the subject / mind in dependence of its past / conditioning / karma (individual, collective, cosmic).

Here, subject / mind & relation / action & objects / phenomena / apparent-opposites are inseparable, interdependent, co-defined, co-relative, co-dependent, co-emergent, co-evolving, co-ceasing / co-transcended, in harmony, equal / non-dual / one -- in the non-dual sense of those terms. One opposite implies the others (<==>).

Here, subject & action & object are empty of inherent existence (2nd truth) <==> because co-existent / co-dependent (1st truth). One truth implies the other (<==>).)

.

When such dualities cease to exist

Oneness itself cannot exist.

.

(i.e. Transcending all dualities: even the dualies: one vs. many, duality vs. non-duality,  relative truth vs. ultimate truth, ground vs. displays, etc.)

.

To this ultimate finality

no law or description applies. (i.e. no absolute to seek and grasp)

.

Advice for a King ~ Katok Rigdzin Tsewang Norbu

Svasti. You might have a hundred or a thousand teachers,

But the one who introduces you to mind’s nature is supreme,

Superior in kindness even to the Buddha —

To the root guru, I bow down in homage.

.

The very essence of your own mind,

Is entirely beyond arising, ceasing and remaining —

This is what followers of the Great Perfection

Call rigpa, pure and open awareness.

.

(i.e. The Ground: the inconceivable Union of the Two Truths. The only thing that is self-arisen unchanging eternal timeless spaceless limitless.)

.

The essence of this approach is none other than

Taking this awareness as the path,

In undistracted, non-meditation —

So, without distraction, sustain the genuine nature.

.

What we call ‘๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—น๐—ฒ’ (i.e. Union of stillness <==> and movement.)

Means that in stillness, which is beyond arising,

There is movement, which is beyond cessation —

Stillness and movement, arising and ceasing, are thus inseparable.

.

(i.e. ๐—จ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€ [Uopp]: Union of stillness <==> and movement. .

๐—จ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€ [U3S] about opposites like stillness and movement. As conceptual objects, conceptual opposites, stillness and movement are merely co- labelled / co-imputed / co-conceptualised together by the subject / mind in dependence of its past / conditioning / karma (individual, collective, cosmic).

Here, subject / mind & relation / action & objects / phenomena / apparent-opposites are inseparable, interdependent, co-defined, co-relative, co-dependent, co-emergent, co-evolving, co-ceasing / co-transcended, in harmony, equal / non-dual / one -- in the non-dual sense of those terms. One opposite implies the others (<==>).

Here, subject & action & object are empty of inherent existence (2nd truth) <==> because co-existent / co-dependent (1st truth). One truth implies the other (<==>).)

.

Undistracted awareness is the path of the Victorious,

And distraction is the playground of saแนƒsฤra.

So maintain awareness without distraction,

Continuously, both day and night.

.

(i.e. An idealistic goal that is never reached since there is no stillness without movement, no Ground without displays / manifestations / appearances.)

.

The nature of mind is clear light.

Sullying thoughts are to be purified. (i.e. that is dualistic thinking)

.

But movement must neither be rejected nor indulged. (i.e. that is the Middle Way free from all extremes & middle)

.

The stirrings of mind must naturally free themselves.

.

(i.e. They do not disappear completely; we just become fully aware of their true nature & dynamic / U2T / U3S / Uopp: that is the liberating factor. They still appear but we are not fooled by them anymore, not grasping at them, not attached to them, not identifying with them, not slaves to them. We are free to use them as simple tools when necessary.)

.

The source of virtuous action

Is none other than devotion for the guru.

So exert yourself in guru yoga,

And avoid sporadic practice.

.

There is no limit to what could be said,

But now is the time for essential practice,

So may this short explanation

Cause experience and realization to increase just like the waxing moon.

Dismiss that too

The Buddha's Message:

.

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

~The Buddha

.

"Re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem."

~Walt Whitman

.

What if we gave up every "belief" we have? There is a fine exercise where we are told to list the three - or maybe five- main beliefs in our life. And then we are asked what would happen if we let each of those beliefs go? Can we imagine the energy that is sometimes used to keep up those beliefs?

.

The Ultimate Dharma message is to strip ourselves of all beliefs, all rules, all commitments, all fabrications of the mind, and stand there naked, buffeted by the winds of indecision, non-guidance, confusion, which surprisingly when left alone, quickly diminish to a breeze, and then a Stillness, a Great Quiet... our True Nature.

.

Rather amazing! and oooo... it feels so good.

.

~dharma grandmother

.

Just ๐Ÿ’š to all who let it all go, even what dear mind labels important .. all... go... and we Soar beyond beliefs. ๐Ÿ’š

Comment: ๐Ÿ’– How about to also dismiss

the extreme idea of ' a Stillness, a Great Quiet' ...

=======================

[Relativity in Physics]

When we apply this to physical movement we get Einstein's Relativity Theory. What is still for one observer is movement for another, and vice versa. There is no absolute fixed frame of reference, space & time -- stillness. Stillness and movement are relative. This could be generalised by including gravity -- the inter-relation between space and objects. There is no absolute space & time existing as the basis of everything else. The same for cognizance / knowledge.

[There is nothing to seek, to change, to do, to view:]

The Dharmas that appear naturally are ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€.

They are the opposite of (i.e. beyond) subtle and coarse.

.

This is the opposite of (i.e. beyond) delusion.

(i.e. It is the wisdom of directly realising the inconceivable true nature & dynamic of Reality as it is here & now, the Ground / Basis / Source.)

This is the opposite of (i.e. beyond) any vision (VIEW).

This has been apparent in the past.

It is the opposite of (i.e. beyond) a view.

Restless mind ~ Chรถgyam Trungpa

Because it is so intelligent, therefore it is restless. It is so transparent that we can’t put any patch on it to mask over the irritation—if we do, the irritation still comes through. We can’t hold the irritation back or maintain ego-style comfort anymore. In tantric literature, buddha mind is referred to as a lamp in a vase. If a vase is cracked, the imperfections of the vase can be seen because of the light shining through from inside. In Mahayana literature, a popular analogy refers to enlightened mind as the sun and ego’s security as the clouds that prevent the sun from shining through.
